Frequently Asked Questions

+ What is the policy on outside food and drink?

Virginia Tech: Players and Spectators are welcome to bring in outside food. Please no large tables due to space restrictions.

Performance Sportsplex: There is to be no outside food and drink brought into any facility throughout the tournament. Coolers and outside food and drink should be left outside the buildings.

+ Are personal chairs permitted/needed?

Virginia Tech: Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs.

Performance Sportsplex: Bleacher cushions are allowed. Other chairs are not permitted.

+ What is the cost for spectator admission?

1 Day Tournament: $20
2 Day Tournament: $25 

+ Will officials be provided for all matches?

Paid R1’s (up refs) will be provided for all matches. The work team must provide a certified R2 (down ref), scorekeeper, libero tracker, and 2 line judges for all matches.

+ Will concessions be sold at every site?

VT: Small concessions will be available at each site. Feel free to bring in personal food, but no large coolers or tables.

Performance Sportsplex: Only water in the facility. Full concessions are available for purchase.

+ Will trainers be provided at all locations?

Athletic trainers will be available for the majority of the tournament locations. At other locations and/or in the event of more serious injuries that require additional medical attention, please go to the nearest emergency room.

+ What is stay to play?

“Nerve Volleyball has teamed up with 365 Sports Travel to offer discounted hotel accommodations in Blacksburg over the weekend of February 27th – March 1st, 2026.
All teams traveling 75+ miles MUST use our hotel partner, 365 Sports Travel for hotel accommodations.

Teams that violate the Stay to Play requirement are subject to disqualification without refunding their entry fee, which may jeopardize their participation in future Nerve tournaments.
This means all participants (players, coaches, and team officials) who are traveling from out of town will utilize 365 Sports Travel services and agree to stay in the designated host hotels, which offer excellent accommodations and discounted rates. Team managers, coaches, etc. are responsible for making sure their team complies with the policy.
